嘉宾介绍：

Viswanathan S. Saji教授，沙特阿拉伯法赫德国王石油与矿业大学（KFUPM）先进材料跨学科研究中心二级研究员。Saji教授长期从事电化学、腐蚀科学、智能材料、电化学能量存储与转换相关方面研究，发表SCI论文100余篇，引用次数5000余次，参编著作15本。多次受邀在国际做邀请报告，获得多项国际资助。

内容介绍：

Smart coatings have emerged as a critical frontier among the myriad applications of smart materials due to their ability to autonomously respond to environmental stressors, thereby extending material lifespans. Among these, smart protective coatings stand out as a critical area, thanks to their autonomous response to stimuli, which can significantly prolong the lifespan of materials. Developing cost-effective, scalable smart coatings is crucial and could revolutionize the aerospace, energy, and oil sectors, where material failure carries high economic and safety risks. Smart protective coatings come in various forms, showcasing their versatility, including self-healing, self-reporting, self-healing-reporting hybrid, and sensor-embedded coatings. The presentation offers a comprehensive overview of various types of smart coatings in different applications, with special emphasis on smart protective coatings, their challenges, and future perspectives.
